Sorry for delay in response but different time zones etc...

Mark - I have thought about placing a bracing piece of timber across the two studs and then attaching to that. It was my plan B if I could not find a bracket. I simply thought if a bracket existed it would be a lot easier and neater.

Anchors/toggles etc - good information (thanks for the link) but to be honest I have had bad experiences with all of these devises. I am not 100% sure if Drywall is the same as our plasterboard but what I have found is that the plaster simple shifts and moves under constant pressure and after time what ever is holding the weight starts to sag. Maybe I am doing it wrong but due to the visibility of the area I did not want there to be a problem with this in a couple of years.

I take it that no-one has seen or heard of a bracket??
