Tom, I was a bit puzzled by the FM bleed-through that you mentioned, because I've never experienced that with any receiver. Just to see if maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, I checked out the two receivers that I have hooked up at the moment. I tuned in one of the appallingly loud local bad music stations and then switched to various unused inputs(CD, TV, etc.)and turned the volume(not "gain", that's fixed)to the maximum setting. With my ear a few inches from the speaker there was no FM audible.
