Chris, my suggestion would be similar to that given to Paul. Assuming that the sub out on your receiver or pre/pro is connected to the line level input on your sub, you should set all speakers to "small" and set the sub crossover all the way up or bypass it entirely if the sub has that option. The crossover on the pre/pro should be set so as to give the sub that you've paid good money for enough to do. 40 hz isn't enough. An 80 hz setting(if available)would be more appropriate to allow your sub to work where it does best( i.e. 20-80 hz). This would remove any bass problem from the center and surrounds and should provide even better performance in that range than the M60s(don't worry that you wouldn't be using them fully).
