I hate to break it to you, but there are better speakers in the world than what Axiom makes. Probably not for for the price, but certainly in terms of absolute sound quality.

Be happy that you have a wife like mine who actually appreciates sound quality. Most of my friends' wives take a, "yes dear" approach to this 'hobby'. smile

A close family friend has a dedicated 2-channel stereo room in his home that consists of B&W 800's powered by a pair of custom-built monoblock amps, a suite of high-end sources, wiring that costs more than my Axioms, and comfy chairs. Plus he always provides good wine. No TV, no sub, no fancy-pants processing, just just glorious, perfectly dialed-in 2-channel audio. Listening to our favorite music on his system is, in a word, sublime. We genuinely feel our Axioms are superb, but it's simply outmatched by what he has. But we don't covet his system. We use it as our benchmark for evaluating everything else we hear.

Of course, his system may cost as much as my house, so there's that. wink

I do agree with the other post about taking your M60's to his place. If this issue really bothers you, that's an excellent idea. It could very well be that his room acoustically better than yours. It's very hard to objectively compare speakers in two different rooms.

But yes, sounds like your wife just gave you a free pass to upgrade "stuff" in your system. wink
