Steve, I missed this one last month, but my suggestion would be to go with the M22s and rely on them for a "phantom" center channel. A sub, although generally desirable, wouldn't appear to be essential for the use that you describe. The M22 is actually tuned about 5Hz lower than the M3(as shown by the NRC measurements)and the bass is quite sufficient for most uses.
