The shutters look really great.
I'd recommend doing whatever is necessary to get the QS8s back to sounding like they used to. I am so happy with mine, and I don't even have them optimally positioned yet. Hope the FMB can do the trick for you. I would think having the right QS8 up against a wall, as it appears, would contribute to it sounding like a direct radiator. Ain't it awful how we have to compromise because of room/furniture considerations. Makes one wish for a dedicated home theater room. Maybe in my next life.
How DID you run the wires to the surrounds; fish 'em up through the wall? Regardless, a very good job.
