It's possible - I did notice what seemed to be a small improvement in bass when going from the HK 3470 receiver's built in amplifier to the Adcom power amp (a 555 mk2 IIRC) - but I suspect the room is still a factor despite my efforts.

We'll find out for sure when I get the LFR1100's set up... they have HP drivers, new-ish crossovers and a heavily braced cabinet.
