I use Far 2 but this of course depends on the characteristics of your room and speaker position. I've also found I need to toe them in so the drivers are facing me. This allows the rear drivers to better reflect off my walls. Experimenting with placement also helps. Mine are 12 feet apart and I sit 10 feet away on the diagonal.

Lee, recall I have the actives and not passives like you do. There may very well be differences in spatial extension between the two models. I am frankly quite amazed with the extension and detail I am hearing given their 8" distance. As I raise the volume, the depth decreases but the width expands. When I move them to the basement, their backs will be almost 3 feet away from the front wall. I expect far greater depth even with larger volumes.
