I disagree - I think, contrary to this theory - the new sound will draw you further into the experience and may negate some of what might have been lacking in your system. That said, definitely make sure you save where you need to get that big-a$$ HDTV you want - but don't be so hasty that you skimp on the sound-side of things. Debatably, I think that it comprises around 60% or more of the home theater experience.

Now, I know you were just talking in generalities about the things you need to buy, and I see you've already got the QS8s and a center, and probably don't need the 22s now. But you'd probably be surprised at how easily we can become accustomed and adjust to the size of the screen and let it consume us - whereas with sound, the illusion is much less easily accomplished, and it is harder to fake enveloping/consuming sound than to be drawn into a smaller set and forget you're watching VHS quality on a 19" screen.
