I probably would if I could find some that fit and work well. They're fine in the deep snow (except for getting lost in the drifts) but their pads freeze up quickly on plowed/iced/salted roads and sidewalks so walking them in the winter is a problem. This winter has been unusually cold so most of their exercise has been "fetching" in the rec room which is fine for them but isn't doing much for my waistline.

There are some great boots made for police K9s which go on easily, let the dogs run, and protect their paws from just about anything. Apparently there aren't a lot of 20 pound police dogs in SWAT teams though, having a bit of trouble finding boots in the right size.

Pet shop booties don't even seem worth trying.

EDIT -- just realized you meant "in the back yard". Nope, it's amazing how fast they can get out and back when the weather is bad.
