Sorry to hear that, I just listened to some of those "goal posts" two days ago and was impressed. They are big though. Can you upgrade your wife instead.

As for the 80s I cant comment because I havent heard them yet. I do own the 60s and from what I understand they sound very much like the 80s and I have no overwhelming desire to trade them in on some SL3s.
I find that both speakers have great detail and imaging. I'm almost sure you would be happy with them.
Order some and give them a test drive, then let us know what YOU think.
I'd be interested in an A-B comparrison between the two.
