Yah, Sunspots would be better if the 'arrangement' were reworked a little. Indeed, I could probably say that about a few of the songs I don't like.
My initial reaction is that the album opens and closes relatively strongly, with a lot of the weaker material mixed in the middle. Not a 100% accurate description, but my general sense. I started out impressed, got bored, then my ears perked up again.
I'll also get the DVD-A version because there's no reason not to (preorder price is the same as the redbook, so I imagine that will hold true one it's out). I listen to it a couple of times before coming to any conclusions...
