Very nice! Now you just need kid toys strewn about everywhere and it will look like a real room.

I like the black exposed beams. Very industrial, but the black keeps them from being too visually distracting.

Ya I got the idea from my uncle (civil engineer) he did that in his basement... I figured since my ceiling is only a lil over 7 feet that would help make it more *open* feeling, and it does. The black is really nice for TV/Movies, no reflections.
I'm gonna be taking some better pix, it's not my camera, and I'm not the photo-man my father is so I need to play a lil still.

That looks like a nice relaxing room to watch movies. Unfortunately houses dont come with basements in Houston, we get gipped on a perfect HT area. I know there are a few around, but they must be pretty expensive to build here, because very few have them. I think it has to do with the water table and the clay soil. Makes it too expensive to waterproof. If I ever build a new house I will definitely look into it though.

The more I look at those pics... I need to get some without the flash, really causes much more contrast than there actually is.
But ya, round here its extremely odd for a house of any kind to not have a basement. I remeber the first time I heard other parts of the country didn't have em, I thought that was extremely odd.

We don't have hurricanes, so we don't "need" them.
I thought y'all called them "cellars".
Beautiful room. I really like the exposed joists painted black. Looks great.
