howdy

i am concidering the VP150 or 100 to use as my center and fronts with MT3ti as my rears in a smaller room so i can get a full sound in a (very) small room. when i get a bigger place i was going to add more speakers but i think this will fit the bill for the time being.

any suggestions on recivers that would match these little babies? i was loking at the Onkyo TX-SR500.

Howdy to you too, boehm, but I think that you may be under the misimpression that a horizontal speaker alignment spreads the sound better horizontally. This isn't the case and if you're interested in the M3s I'd suggest that you use them at least for the fronts and possibly the center as well. Also, in a very small room it's helpful to use a very broad dispersion surround speaker such as the QS4 or QS8.

As to the receiver, you don't have to worry that it won't "match" your speakers unless it has insufficient power, and clean power is plentiful and cheap these days, including the Onkyo 500. Get the features you want at the best price available. Among the other receivers you might consider are the Kenwood 7070 and the Pioneer 912.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Hey. glad you came over here. the speakers i was going to suggest was the epic master? ht package. the one with the M22's. for front speakers i think you should just start off with something like the M22 and a sub and you can build from there. like the others were saying you can start off with a good 2 channel and build off that if you want. you might be happy with 2 channel.

I put an SR500 in for my father. It did well. He ordered it from jandr.com and they pricematched lowest on the net. It did get rather warm with the 6 ohm speakers, so I would stick with 8 ohm speakers. I put my axioms (vp150 and qs8) up against his JBL studio monitors and thought the axioms were worlds better, but the onkyo does have decent power. Hope this helps..

Thanks for the responses!

I am going to call Axiom on Monday and chat with them, but as of now I am leaning towards a 2 channel+sub. I am a college student, so when I graduate to a bigger place (and income, I stuck with engineering for 4 years for a reason!!!) I will complete the surround system.

Thanks for everone's opnions, keep them coming if anybody has anymore!!
