how old could my m60ti's be? if they were the oldest? are there different versions released? if so, how can i tell what version i have? any ideas? i ask, because these speakers i ahve look BRAND NEW...and not at all used. so i was thinking that maybe they ARE pretty much new. just wondering if there is a way to find out. a manufacture date or something...or version number etc. TIA

Jinx, the M60s have been around for the four years that I have. You might contact Axiom and ask what the serial number might show in that regard.

oh ya, one more question. would i get better performance out of these M60Ti's with say, a 200 watt per channel Adcom amp or the like? would that be better? give better sound? these speakers seem to handle LARGE power easily, and in fact seem to be power hogs...just wondered. thanks again!

The best center speaker(if you're going to use one at all)is identical to the mains. I have no idea how closely the Infinity matches the M60s, but the closer the better.
No, it's highly unlikely that a more powerful separate amp would provide better performance. The M60s aren't "power hogs" and in fact are slightly above average in sensitivity. Your 1015 is a very powerful receiver and it's probable that you're never going to use its full capacity. Buying something with 2-3dB more of unused headroom would simply be a waste of money.

well, maybe not power hogs, but...i have never been able to turn my receiver to reference level, (0) before...maybe they just handle loads of power very well then? maybe i'm mistaken here. either way, they sound pretty good man. i'm impressed. i sure wish i had a pair of studio 100's to put them up against. i MIGHT just take them to the store, and hook them up next to some 100's just to compare...the store we have here is pretty good about that kinda stuff.

That's always fun to do. I've brought my M22ti's to a local shop before. I love demoing speakers.

well, spoke to axiom today, and my M60Ti are version 2, so not older than 2 years at most. he's going to call me tomorrow with an exact date of sale etc.
