I intend to drive M22Ti's, a VP150 and my Atlantic Technology surrounds and powered subwoofer.
I currently have a Harman Kardon AVR65 which sounds great but lacks 7.1 capability. I don't mind staying with HK but some have said they aren't what they used to be. I am open to Yamaha or Denon but would rather stay away from consumer oriented brands.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Don't shy away from HK because of rumors. I've bought the AVR 130 and 630 refurbed from the HK eBay store and love them. They are great fit with Axioms and there are plenty of good deals to be found.

There are a lot of good receivers you should be able to find in the range from Denon, HK, Onkyo, etc...If you buy new or refurbished, make sure they are an authorized dealer.

I have almost the same setup that you have with a Yamaha RX-V657 and it's a great combination. (Got it for 500$ CND.)

I would, without a doubt, second Jinx's suggestion for the 1015Tx. I have the 1014 (practically identical minus the WMA decoding of the 1015), and it is simply great.
