I'm just wondering if anybody has experience in using the m22 bookshelf speakers for the fronts in a home theater setup. If so, do they provide enough power for your liking? Is it well balanced with QS8s for surrounds? Any suggestions?

I've been using the M22s for about three years or so in my HT setup with no complaints at all. Get a good sub to compliment them and you're set.
I'm also using QS4s and I've been extremely pleased. The QS8s receive nothing but raves, so I don't think you can lose either way.

Awesomebase. I have M22s with QS8s (and a VP150). I have 0 complaints and no reason to change to anything else. I still have nights when I pop in a good SACD or DVDAudio disc and say "wow" as I set in the sweet spot and soak it all in. For movies they are also great. But, you will want a Sub for home theater. Of course, that's true regardless of which speakers you get, M22s or M80s.
The real thing to consider (in my mind) is if they will fill your listening area. How large is it? I'm low man on the advice totempole, but plenty others will be around to assist you, especially if you can tell us the dimensions of your room.

I've been runnin M22's with QS4's and a VP150 for almost 2 years. Paired with a good sub I'm confident you'll be very happy. Home theater sounds outstanding and sitting in the sweet spot and switching to stereo for music is a great experience even though I have a fairly large, acousticallly difficult room. I sometimes think about trying out the m60's, but I crank up my system and the feeling gradually goes away.

Yup just get a good sub. I have 22's, Qs8's, Vp150 and EP350. I've peaked at well over 100db nice and clean and kept it steady at around 100db (not for long!) nice and clean. Crossover @ 80. Plus because of their commonality they all blend together quite well.

I am using a set of M22's for my son's setup upstairs...I will have to invest in a better sub later but for now, even the 75 Watt subwhimper that came with a HTIB speaker set I had, combined with the M22's, sounds great!

Well, I'm building out the room in my basement, so my measurements are not "exact" as of yet, but it will be pretty close to 12' x 19' x 7'6". The ceiling height varies because of support beams and HVAC equipment. Some parts are 8', some are 7'.
I'm happy to hear that the responses are so overwhelmingly in favor of the M22s and its capabilities. I was also quite impressed with the response I received from Axiom directly. So, things are looking good! I'm looking forward to adding the 22s with the 150 and the QS8s. I may opt to do the 22s and the 150s in the "on-wall" version as that is primarily what I'm looking for. I may have to add a pair of smaller bookshelves to my office as well.

M22ti's with QS8's and a VP150 is a super sweet setup. Be sure to get a terrific sub, and you'll be all set.
The reviews of the new EP500 have been superlative across the board. Hsu's VTF-3 is also considered one of the best buy's in audio as well.
Good luck, and be sure to keep us up to date with your progress!
Can I tell you how jealous I am of all you people with basements? Grrrrr...

Was that you, or Mr. Bear voicing his displeasure?
Btw, I'm equally as jealous of all these basement home theaters!

I'm jealous of people with basements too...in this part of Florida, a basement is called an inground pool.
...and speakers have to be heavilly weighted to stay down....
