I bought a pair of M60's on Ebay this week. I paid $530 for a set about 1 1/2 years old that was purchased brand new (not at the outlet). Picked them up to save on shipping. They are in excellent condition and sound soooo good. Axioms are a rare find on Ebay. I suppose that attests to owner satisfaction. Only downside is the warranty is not transferable. But for a $280 savings under the outlet price, I think I got a pretty good deal. The seller was extremely helpful and accomodating. My room is small enough that M22's and the sub would have been OK, but I decided that I was going to make this upgrade one that was going to last for several years.
Also got a new SVS PB 10 sub (new). Just finished watching War of the Worlds. OK movie, but full of bass. Santa is such a cool dude!
Time to save up for the Q's and center channel!!

I hate you. Go away. I have been trying to rationalize joining the M-60 Posse myself. Now you get some on the cheap. Bastardo!

'Picked them up to save on shipping'
As in personally picked them up from the seller? If this is the case, that has to be a very lucky find indeed. And, welcome!

Yes. He lived about 120 miles away. Shipping would have been $100 more and would have prevented me from bidding any higher.

Can you tell us why this person was selling them, and if he still owns Axioms or not?
Welcome by the way...

He said he was very pleased with the sound, but they were too much for what he needed. He said the days of cranking it up were in his past. Plus, he mentioned that he liked to change equipment every now and then.
He owned a Macintosh receiver and was not into home theater (used the Axioms for stereo). He said he enjoyed the Axioms and their sound, but was looking for something smaller.

So larlane (Larry?). You need to tell us what you think of them. Especially after you have listened for a couple of days. They may sound a little bright to your ears at first.

Jeez, Jinx, everytime I try to give you the benefit of the doubt, you once again prove my initial feelings were correct.

The only upgrade you should be considering is the EP-500!

Folks just need a change every so often, I reckon.
I sold som M60s on ebay - total nightmare when one took a digger off the Fedex truck. Fedex really stepped up though. Great company that stands behind their service.
I wasn't unhappy with my M60s, just itchin for something different (and more expensive ).
