Hmmmmm.......
....to sum it all up and put it in perspective:
I've been married nearly 39 years, AND we're raising four grandkids ages 5, 8, 10 and 12.
Audio falls somewhere ABOVE the level of a simple "gateway drug"!!

An addendum:
To further "feed the need"(using the "gateway drug analogy")I've been visiting another audio forum(blasphemy!!)to find a better way to use audio as a way to escape!
Axioms are, by many accounts, a more foreward and perhaps br....br....um, you know, sound.
Grado earphones are considered somewhat bright and foreward sounding in relation to the average set of "cans"
I prefer the Axiom " M3" style of sound: more relaxed and less intense.
"M3" is to Axiom as "Alessandro" is to Grado.
Never heard anyone say anything bad about M3s, never heard anyone say anything bad about(Grado built)Alessandros.
So the hope is, when my new MS1s get here early next week, that the sound of the earphones will closely match the general sonic signature of my M50s and M3s.
.......without the evil room inducing distortions of fireplace and furnishings!!
Now I'll just have to learn to judge what the kids are asking by body language alone, before I either nod, or shake my head in responce.
CUZ I WON'T BE ABLE TO HEAR THEM!! HAAAR HAAAR HAAAR!!!

I haven't heard of the Alessandro line. Just checked it out on the web. Let us know what you think. I'm only familiar with Senns and have never had the opportunity to try Grados.

Alessandro is a builder of guitar amps and speaker cabinets who markets a line of Grado earphones to help fill out his total product offerings, and were originally aimed more towards the professional music market. The "Alessandros'" are made by Grado to more closely approximate the old(analylitical) "Joseph" Grado sound rather than the newer (lively, "fun")"John" Grado house signiature sound.
I'll be hearing them myself for the first time when they get here(just like my Axioms )too, so I'm anxious to take a listen. They're only sold on line, so....
Fingers crossed and nose to the front window glass!

I've got the Grado SR125 Prestige Series, Imho one of the best headphones I've ever heard.

Yup, my guess is that the M80s are closer to the SR125s while the MS1s are more similar to the M3s.
Ain't choice great!!??

Dennis, I hope you didn't use those kind of nails for your latest project. The damn things won't stay down.

I have the Grado 125 P also. I love them. Though an "audiophile" friend claims they are brighter and more forward than his Sen's. "Sauzitch his own." Enjoy your Allesandro's I'm sure they'll be great if they are made by Grado.
