So in this thread, danmagicman7 asks if we can turn a thread into a sitcom.

Why not?

What I'm wondering is, who should we cast? So in this thread I am inviting all of you guys to answer this question:

Who should play you in the Axiom sitcom/movie/musical?

I'll start. I will be played by Hank Azaria. I know, it seems like too obvious a choice because he plays a psychiatrist on TV (Huff). But he also voices many of the Simpsons, and I am always doing Simpsons impressions.

I really wanted to pick Jon Stewart because we have the same snarky sense of humor, but I'm about a foot taller than him (isn't everybody?) and non-Jewish.

Feel free to also volunteer casting choices for other Axiom regulars as well. Who could be played by John Malkovich or Christopher Walken?

Amie should be played by Sandra Bullock (intelligent; wry sense of humor; attractive). If we're actually doing a musical, perhaps Shania Twain would be a better choice. I don't think Sandra can sing.

OK, I'll give you that. She's a much better singer than the usual pop stars these days--they often can't sing a note, and let the computers fix it for them.

Absolutely true. But then, ya gotta keep in mind, I can remember when Tiny Tim was a pop star.

I will confess that I'm biased in Shania's favor because I'm familiar with her life's story. The lady has PAID HER DUES. To a professional musician, that means a lot. I can understand if, to others, it means squat.

Back to the question at hand... who would play me? Denis Leary. With a buzzcut and sideburns.

I was actually thinking of Sandra Bullock as Amie as well! They both look great in a Wonder Woman outfit!

How about James Hetfield (Metallica) for kcarlile?

Oh for Pete's sake! That's not paying your dues, that's normal behavior for nearly every musician, particularly the males. I suspect most of your musical heroes have spent some time in a few bathroom stalls, and under a few desks. You have heard the phrase "SEX, and drugs, and rock 'n' roll, haven't you? We better get some fun out of it, 'cause the vast majority of us sure as hell ain't in it for the money.

As we all know, this is a VERY.....ah,...."cost concious" group here, so I think the hollywood stars may be a wee bit pricey.

Also, judging from his posts, stoneman is really........ stonemen, meaning we would need at least TWO, just to play him.

SO, I can only think of one here, that may be up to it......."the fcapio".

If animated characters could play us, then Ajax could be played by Abraham (Grandpa) Simpson. Here's a typical dialogue:

Mr. Burns: So do you have a way to get rid of the protesters?
Grandpa: One way to get rid of them is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time we went over to Shelbyville during the war! I wore an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time ... you couldn't get those white ones, you could only get those big yellow ones ... now where was I ... oh yeah, the important thing was I was wearing an onion on my nelt, which was the style at the time, you couldn't get those ... (trails off)

In the spirit of our monthly avatar themes, I say we revisit this old thread. Besides, for those of you I haven't met or seen a picture of, I like to have a mental image of who's talking, so I can tell you guys apart and put a personality on ya.

So far, looks like we've got:

medic8r = Hank Azaria
Amie = Sandra Bullock or Shania Twain
JohnK = Patrick Stewart with a blonde wig.
kcarlile = James Hetfield

Who's next?!

Actors, actresses, singers - who would you like to play you (or your friend) in the "Untitled Axiom Project"?

Just really curious, since way back in the early days of video conferencing (when Peter and I were in college), he got his hands on a video camera. Some random guy saw me, and said I looked like James Hetfield. I've been using it as something of an alias since them.

Also, I have anger problems!

I'm stuck for myself. My personality has so many angles I can't even talk to myself and know what to say.

Note on Amie though, I had the opportunity to meet with Sandra Bullock in person for a very short time. She is no where near the friendly person her cute little smile would imply. Maybe she was having a bad day but she seemed extremely high maintenance to me.
I think we could do better for Amie.

Diametric. It has enabled me to take a tiny bit of familiarity and whip the dookie right out of it. I even mentally noted who walks with their toes at 9:30 and 2:30, who must wear glasses, but left them at home, and who cannot cruise women with the slightest nod to subtlety. Saving all that for when I get really desperate. Or the High School thread when I'm not.
