Hi all - I noticed this weekend that my new 150 requires a lot more volume on the AV to get the same sound my previous speakers. My old speakers were 4ohm 86DB. The receiver I'm using is a NAD T753. Does this sound normal?

Sounds fairly normal, but I'd probably check that all 5 drivers are working.

No.
I check all drivers on all my speakers every once in a while.

I think that in general, 4 ohm speakers play louder at a given input volume than 6 or 8 ohm speakers, but don't quote me on that.

Would this work... I have a 2 channel amp the can be bridged to 300w. Could I connect my center to this amp while leaving my two mains connected to my AV that is putting out only 70wpc (true wattage though)?

Yes, it probably would, but then you'd be adjusting the volume in the other direction. In other words... why bother? I mean what are we talking, +6 dB or something? What are you running as mains?

I would guess he's using m22's. Dharris, have you calibrated your system with test tones and an spl meter yet?

I have calibrated and it does sound fine when really turned up. Maybe I just need to get use to the new center... I am using M22's for mains.
