...well they aren't yet but if they are believing BS like this it's only a matter of time before they will be (irrelavent). I used to really respect Sony but their track record has been pretty poor lately.

Pros, they brought us the portable (Walkman) and the PS2.
Cons, Betamax, Minidisk, Memory Stick... all striking failures (mainly because of marketing or licensing issues but THEIR fault).

In any case if they think the PS3 will replace the PC (see article) they are smoking too much ganja.

Wow, Sony's like your favorite company, isn't it?

Well, I really used to like Sony, thought they made good products but the last few years they seem to be changing into this company bent on forcing everyone to do things there way and without any consideration for the consumer.

On my list above I forgot to mention the rootkit fiasco and there there is this (which I didnt really know much about) failed attempt at capturing marketshare against iTunes and such.

I've thought Sony has stunk for a LONG time. I read an article with their new CEO who stated he wanted to cut the number of products they sell and focus on quality. I believe he's aware of the fact that Sony isn't as highly regarded as they once were.

You aren't the only ones disenchanted with Sony.
