I purchased this all purpose player and received it this week. It plays DVD-Audio, SACD and of course regular redbook. The thing is that when it loads a disc with the TV screen on, it will tell you what type of disc it is. I know, not unusual. What surprised me was when I loaded a Van Halen HDCD re-master, it showed HDCD on the screen too. Is it possible that this machine also de-codes HDCD? It doesn't say this on the spec sheet? Thanks in advance.......

My 3910 does the same thing but shows HDCD compatability on the front face, DVD audio as well as many DVD's are recorded in HDCD, all players will play the material, although the audio quality will be better if the player has the HDCD chip.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
