My present setup is two M60's, One VP 150, two QS 4's and 2 Definitive Technolgy BP 2's. I have sold the Def Techs and was thinking about replacing them with QS 8's to go on back wall and to place the QS 4's on the side wall in 7.1 setup.

I have a 11 X 19 ft room in a dedicated theatre. Amplification is supplied by a Marantz 100 watt per channel receiver. Any advise on which way to go would be appreciated. QS 4's or QS 8's?? QS 8's seem the be the most popular.

Dave, QS4s should be adequate in that size of room, but if you decide to go with QS8s the better placement would be to use them as the side surrounds. Since the side surrounds generally have more work to do than the back surrounds, to the extent that the QS8s do have any advantage, that would be best utilized at the sides.

Not much to add to John's advice. Just lending my support to his recommendations, and trying to up my post count.

Thanks for your input. I don't know what I was thinking about placement, but you are correct. The larger speakers need to go on the side wall and the 4's on the back wall. I think I am going to go ahead and spring for the 8's and get them ordered in hopes that they get here by the weekend.

Wait a minute!! I don't even HAVE QS series speakers!! That makes the last post a frivolous one.

Ok, since I have direct radiating M3s, just cancel that last frivolous post.

......no, wait a moment.....if QS10s are ever produced....

......yeah, it MAY have been frifolous. I dunno.
Rich.
