Finally I’m proud to say that I own a subwoofer. Last night I drove to FedEx to pick up the sub. It was already late when I got home, but hey, I had to open the box and do a little test run. Well, somehow I managed to stay up ‘till 2:00am tweaking the sub and listening to music, it’s amazing how fast time goes by when you’re having fun.

My room dimension is fairly big, about 28x14x9.I plan to use the system mainly for stereo/multi channel music. I’ve read lots of reviews before of owners saying how big this sub is, well, I have to say it again here, it’s big. It’s kinda plain looking big black box, so the WAF is not the greatest.

I didn’t do the 'sub-crawl'; I just put it in a corner next to the receiver. I couldn’t calibrate it because I couldn’t find the avia dvd on my local BB and/or borders. I do have a RadioShack SLM but it’s useless w/o an wave source. Anyways, the first cd track I listened to was Michael Buble Home. I chose this track because it has one of the lowest bass lines I’ve ever heard. My M60s alone produced this low tight beautiful rumble in certain passages of the song so I had to try this one first. I was not disappointed; it shook the whole basement. After that, I listen to some classical music excerpts from this SACD , track 13,14,15. Wow, a sub adds so much to classical music. There’s a pipe organ track on that sacd that’s really impressive. Does anybody have any good pipe organ recording recommendations? ...gotta have more pipe

Then I listened to sacd Gaucho Steely/Dan, it’s the best sounding sacd I have by far, top notch musicians too (JeffPorcaro/SteveGadd on drums=groove heaven). The sub adds a well balance punch... gee, this is getting too long; in a nut shell I’m very happy w/ the sub and can’t wait to calibrate it to get the most out of it.

I also just got the exact same sub and I'm extremely happy with it ... and for the cost. Wow, color me a happy camper.

I knew it was gonna add a lot to movies, but I'm shocked how much it adds to the enjoyment of my music.

Great sub for the money.

I was thinking of the same sub as I liked the varible tuning, but the folks at HSU suggested I go with something with a bit more power, so went with the STF-3.

I too am very satasfied with it and really am using it more with music, than HT. But it shakes the house for some scenes in movies. Congrats on your purchase.

If you bought the Hsu, then it should have come with a CD-R filled with pipe organ recordings. It's taped to the outside of the box, folded inside the packing invoice. Easy to miss.

Jaime, there're quite a few pipe organ demonstration CDs; a notable one is Michael Murray's Organ Blaster . For a complete composition that features the organ, the Saint-Saens 3rd Symphony is a top choice.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

If you want to save the cost of a calibration disc just download this free real traps set of sine waves, burn them to a cd and use them to chart your room and calibrate. For a quick calibration adjust the volume of the mains with the pink noise tones then adjust the sub volume after running 40hz, 60 hz and 80hz tones with the mains shut off. Nice sub by the way.
