Ebay recently had a promotion for new sellers...(3 free listings) with extra pictures, for first timers.

WELL, I just happened to be one of those...so I registered, and sold two, of my three items.

I found I needed to make some changes to my info, and to make a long story short....I went to "the Ebay cafe" chat room, and asked my question.
Right away, two members stopped their small talk, and quickly gave me the correct answer to my problem, AND invited me to stay and chat.
I am impressed.....so far, all MY Ebay dealings have been fine.....AND, I have discovered another friendly, helpful board.

I've had 255 transactions on eBay over the last 4 years and all have gone on without a hitch, either buying or selling. I've never tried the chat room, I'll have to check it out.

ebay gave me back all the fees that resulted from a scammer clicking the buy it now option on my last auction. Apparently the account they were using had been phished. Their customer support responded within 24 hours via email.

the relisted auction is ending in a few hours, so far a canadian is on top. Even if it doesnt go any higher, I am still in the green

I feel that eBay is like owning your own pet lion. It may be the perfect pet to have for years, but one day it will bite your arm off. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will eventually happen.

<Opinion Alert...>
I have done 40+ auctions on ebay as both buyer and seller. That's not many compared to some. Probably 75% of those auctions have been positive. 20% are ok, but not great, and 5% have been a failure or scam. Years ago, eBay was a great place with mostly honest people, but it's taken a sour note in the past few years. It seems like every auction I participate in has at least some 'scammy' part to it, whether it's mis-described items, poor shipping, scam emails, eBay interference, or non-existent communication between buyer or seller.

I've being using Ebay for both buying and selling since 1999. I've had well over 1000 transactions, both as buyer and seller. I'd have to say 99.99% of them have been great. Good communication is the key to success with Ebay.
