Ok, so I didn't like the B&W's, and I'm feeling a little snakebit. I'm sitting at home contemplating going to BB and buying those new Yamaha speakers, the ones with the black piano finish, model #ns-555/777 or the Athenas, or should I order something from axiom audio? I'm still a little stunned.

Hey littleb,
At least you did find out with your B&W experience, that nothing beats auditioning gear in your home. Don't know anything about the speakers you mentioned from BB, but with their liberal return policy, what do you have to lose.
Have you tried to get an Axiom audition from someone in your area?

littleb,
What have you heard that you liked?
Try to find some Axioms to listen to.
I heard Athenas the other day at the crappy setup at BB...I think they are worth a try at home.
Have you thrown Ascends out?

I dont know where you live, but if you check the Audition Axioms in your area thread that lives in the Questions and Comments board.
If you are in SO Cal, feel free to hit myself, spiffnme, or MIKEY up for an in home audition, we are all willing and MIKEY is the only one that bites

Try the M60s. I auditioned the M22s and the Athena AS-F2 in my house before deciding on the M60s. Here's my post comparing the M60s to the Athena AS-F2.
