Hello, guys. I was on the very precipice of ordering the m50ti's, but first I decided to see if I could find a pair of speakers locally which are considered by many to be on the bright side. So, I went over to BB and picked up a pair of Yamaha ns-555's. If they are an example of bright speakers, I think I'm here to stay. I'm initially very happy with them. Would I have been even happier with the m50ti's?

There is only one way to find out.
I live the life I love and I love the life I live.

Get M60's, not M50's.
either way, chances are they're both far better. I've never heard anyone prefer yammy speakers to Axiom towers.
Order some. send them back for 30$ or whatever shipping is if you don't like them. If you don't........ your loss!

Yamaha's current HX series are respectable speakers with affordable prices (I've listened to the NS-8HX in Tokyo, sold for ~US$1100 there). However, I don't think the new NS-555/777 are up to the quality of the HX series. I strongly suggest you do a favor to yourself by listening to the Axioms (and, if possible, the HX series) as well.
