Interesting setup. I think I would have opted for bookshelves up there vs VP150s to get deeper bass but it does look impressive. Looks like a very interesting house as well.

It's a large beautiful home which he has been constructing since Hurricane Charley destroyed his place in August, 2004.

When I first walked into the empty room I suggested:

1. 3 M60s up front (1 behind the screen) which was immediately nixed because of the panoramic floor to ceiling views.

2. 3 M22v2s up above.

A call to Dwight and a long conference call resulted in this recommendation. The concern was with dispersion from above using vertical speakers in a relatively large room. Its a unique setup and until I hear it I can't say definitely how it sounds. I can tell you my friend loves it and his wife is pleased.

Though neither the house nor the speaker setup is my cup of tea (location and view are to die for, however), that they are happy is all that matters.

Thanks for posting. Looks like he may be able to use some room treatments. Please let us know how it sounds.

Room treatments are not going to happen in that room. I'm sure the glass makes it a reverbant environment.

Yes its a lovely comfortable home which incidentally can withstand 175mph winds.

Here is another shot showing the 3 VP150s, screen and an EP500.

This should be called "personnel megaplex" instead of "home theater". It gives me a few ideas for when I shop for a house in 12-18 months.

Enough with the system, I want to see more of that view! Wow, what a home....

Are those 150s shunt-connected?
