Even the vp's will block a tiny bit of screen when I slump down in the sofa. The sacrifices we make for 106". Don't slouch, sit up straight! I think Mojo link to the mom's overture got to me.

...a Samsung 50" 1080P plasma for $2200 A year ago, that's almost what I paid for my 32" LCD Sammy . I should have waited .

Thanks Jake, that helps a lot. I may just get the vp100 unless I can find a killer deal on a 150. Maybe someone is upgrading to the dual 22's for a center.

Yeah, I paid 1800 for my 32" xbr1 LCD a year ago too. Now I am lusting after one of the 46" 1080p lcds for around that price.

Hi price3,
In a general way, NHTs have, over the years, been reasonably linear speakers, except for one caveat--I've always found the upper octaves to be somewhat aggressive, even strident.
They are not as smooth and linear as the M22s, but they don't have pronounced colorations, so the blend would likely be okay.
I formed this judgment based on various press auditions as well as NHT samples, one of which I still own (it's not one of the models you mentioned. I think it's a "zero" or "Super Zero"--something like that).
I have not heard any recent NHT speakers. The ones I heard were designed by Ken Kantor, the founder of NHT, who is no longer involved in the design.

Mojo, you should just get a 1080p projector, you will not be dissapointed. The New Sanyo 1080p LCD projector is selling for around $2500 CAD...that is seriously insane! [/offtopic]

Well, I did actually get in on the clearance price, hopefully I can get a vp model here during the trial period to make a fair comparison. Anyone live near Clemson, SC?

Robb,
I made the conscious decision to stick to wall-mounted TVs and I see no reason to move away from that. I made this choice because I didn't want a projector above my head with its associated fan noise and I felt I'd have more choices with TVs rather than projectors over the years. Also, I don't need a huge screen like what you have because I sit relatively close to the action. Aesthetics came into play too. And at the time I was doing my research, projector/screen systems didn't have the PQ that a TV did. The quantity and convenience of inputs/outputs also wasn't there with projectors. PQ and I/O may have changed by now.
Hijack over.

Mojo, with your room being virtually identical to mine, having a support post approximately 10 feet from the wall wouldn't allow for a projector (as far as my research) because of throw distance. As far as I've read, to get a large screen size with a projector, you require a long throw distance and my support beam like yours would be in the way. Is this not correct?

I'm not sure Wheelz. I've heard that they make "short throw" projectors now but I don't really know how short. And that's right...my post is exactly 10 feet from the wall.
