For those of you who have actually listened to both, if you could buy psb 4t for $450 would you prefer it to the M22?

My son has the 5t's and I recently purchased the m22ti's. He is a PSB devotee, but he says the m22's are a better speaker. I tend to agree. I was considering the 4t's myself until I took a leap of faith and ordered the Axiom's. If you like the sound of the PSB image series, I believe you will really like the m22's.

Greedy for more info. What qualities makes your son prefer the m22's? I'm straight 2 channel music, not theater. How do you use them. you What size room are you using them? thanks, dharmatone

If you want to hear the Image 4T, there's a dealer in the City (San Francisco, for those not from 'round here):
Audio Image Corp.

My son's 5t's are really lacking in the bass area. So much so that a sub is a necessity. They really excell with classical music. Listening to rock music with these at loud levels is an experience you'll never forget. The tweeters will drill a hole through your ear drums. They are extremely crisp sounding speakers. If you are into instrumental music, they are the speaker for you. I've found that their is a similarity between the psb's and the m22ti's as far as the crisp highs. However, you can listen to the axioms without a sub. The 22's, to me at least, are a more all around speaker. They sound good with all types of music. The sound they emit is more similar with Paradigm than with PSB. I guess what I am trying to say is that with my son's set up the low end is there but is disappointing for a speaker that large. I like PSB's offerings due to their clarity, but I think Axiom is a better all around speaker. When I first heard the m22ti's the first question I asked myself was, how the heck is all this sound coming out of these? I never had that feeling listening to a pair of PSB's? This opinion should be taken with a grain of salt since I'm old and my hearing is probably half shot.
