Need some input. I will only have a 5.1 setup going in our family room. We recently were given a Sharp Blue Ray DVD Player and now I need to get a new receiver to run it through. (currently I have a Sony ES DVD/Receiver). It seems as if the HK AVR347 doesn't decode Dolby True HD. Is this something I should be concerned about since I will only have a 5.1 system? I've heard many good comments concerning HK receivers on the boards here and I trust the experience here. Thanks for the help, Sips

Sips, One of my favorite things about the new HD formats is the True HD sound. I'm not sure if your Blu Ray player decodes the the new formats or not, if it does then you will just need a receiver that accepts PCM via HDMI. If not then you will have to buy a receiver that will decode the sound formats provided your player will send the sound to the receiver via bitstream. Imo if you're gonna go HD go all the way, sound and picture, just my two cents.
