took my spl meter and video essentials disc to a friend's cook out yesterday after he asked if he could borrow it. as the two of us opened the bag another friend inquired about it's contents. discussion ensued, regarding our plasma purchases, which led to our sound systems. he told me he had just purchased a new system, a 10 cube system, and i knew the next word he was about to say before he said it; bose. he couldn't upgrade his existing bose, so he bought another 10 cube system because he loved his other system. with my wife looking at me, and having a few 'poons under my belt, i just shut my mouth. he then asked what speakers i had, to which i replied, axiom, a small canadian speaker company. he asked if he could be next in line to borrow the meter and disc. no problem i replied. i told him that the night before we had watched twin towers II, and that the window cross panes were rattling in a few scenes during the movie. wow he says, mine never did that, you must have had it cranked. instead of saying i have real speakers, i just said ya, probably so. very humbling.
ps. can't wait to have him over to drool.
