I haven't found out whether or not the Onkyo 705 will drive a 6 ohm speaker like my VP150. Anyone know?

I downloaded the manual. 6 ohm is safe.

Most AVR's will drive 4, 6, or 8 ohm speakers just fine, even in combination.

I drove 1.3 Ohms at what I consider to be loud in my 4,000 cubic foot room with my Denon 90W/channel amp. The load was M80s, M60s, M22s, Nuance and Bose. One of these days I'm going to drive my Denon into a dead short to see if I can blow it up. That way I can justify a new pre-pro .
