So what is it about axiom subs that makes axiom speaker owners reject them in favor of hsu or svu. It doesn't seem to me that price has anything to do with it. I am a 2 channel, not HT listener and want clean musical bass that can handle dyanmic range of classical and opera. Especially look forward to replies from people who have listened to both axioms and others or have info on reliability issues, etc. Thanks

From all the posts I've read on this issue, the Axiom subs are good, but at their price point, the Hsu and SVS's are simply better. We Axiom loyalists are used to the HUGE bang for your buck factor that their speakers have. Their subs just don't pack the same "bargain" wallop that their speakers do.

Just to make things more interesting Outlaw will be releasing the LFM-1 that's been developed with Dr. Hsu. Late Fall/early winter is the expected delivery date for this new sub.

To be honest I don't think I have read any sub to sub reviews. Is it the same criteria as speaker reviews or a different animal entirely?

Like I said in my post...my comments were based on the numerous threads I've read on this board. I've never personally heard an Axiom sub.

Enough VERY happy Axiom owners seem to point people towards Hsu and SVS on a daily basis - that was enough for me. I bought a Hsu VTF-2 and LOVE it.
