My HG Cherry Epic 80-500 system came with mis-aligned vinyl sheets.
Very noticeable for a full price purchase. I took pictures and
sent then to Axiom. They gave me a very small store credit and
suggested I use a magic marker to hide the flaws.

I have since had good luck with their CS,
but after spending that much I was
at first very worried about future service.

When I got my EP500, the box had a big dent in in. I was mortified. Took a picture before opening it, then holding my breath, opened the box.

The in rear corner, it was a bit scratched/crushed. I thought about asking for a new one, but opted not to. Why? I figured I would always have the scratched corner towards the wall (out of line of sight) and Axiom would be out another EP500 to replace mine. So in the end, I figure I would (passively) support the company.

I think you are supporting dhl/purolator/whoever. I am sure that axiom has some type of insurance on items that are not shipped with proper care.

Both of my m80 boxes had huge gashes in the side and you could see the speaker straight through the box. Fortunately, there were no scratches on the speakers themselves. If there was a large scratch/dent that was due to shipping you better believe I would send it back.

You're probably right, now that I think about it. But there also was a laziness factor. That 500 is pretty heavy and the thought of putting it all back in the box wasn't too tempting!

It depends on how big of a problem it was. When you say 'crushed' I think of something major.

Anyway, Mine was a factory outlet purchase so I would have to determine if any dents/ect. was beyond normal FO condition and that the damage was indeed due to shipping.

If I was purchasing a high gloss or vasallo upgrade I would expect perfection.

BTW, I am very happy with my FO purchase. There is a scratch on the back of my 500, and that is pretty much it out of all 6 speakers.
