Might as well mention this one too while I'm on a roll. There is a new firmware update for the 3808. It's pretty painless. If you have the machine on a network, just go into the GUI and select firmware update, the machine will do the rest. It didn't even change my settings.

about an hour. i have 256k dsl
darn thing locked up on me at one point. i powered it down and back on with the small power button. when i re=started, it resumed the upload.
i also used the IE interface and saved my settings in case it decided to dump them all. i didn't need it, but you might want to do the same, just in case.....

You can save your settings by using the Web Interface (it's in the manual). -Go to the Network Menu setup option on the GUI. -Set the Denon for DHCP. -Go to Network Information and see if your Denon is getting an IP address from the router. -If you have an IP address assigned by the router you are home free. -See page 20 for set-up, -See page 24 for GUI option for firmware update under Manual Setup in the lower right corner. Said another way - You just type the IP address of the Denon into your browser and the web interface will open To get the IP, go to your router or the Denon menu under Network Info. Note: If you plug your 3808 into a router, do NOT have UPnP enabled on the router. It can screw every device in the network until you unplug the receiver and power cycle the router. terzaghi, this stuff is covered in great detail in that AVS 3808 owners thread you have been posting in. Meanwhile, I got my 3808 last week, but I haven't hooked it up yet. I just received a powerline adapter ethernet kit from NewEgg (Linksys PLK200) to provide me with a hard wire network capability in the basement HT. I am waiting for my order from monoprice (some HDMI cables and some network patch cables)so I can hook it all up. I'm pretty excited about getting it all tied together.

cool, saving settings now and I will update the firmware tonight.
The update is suppose to speed up the scroll times when selecting music to stream (on network or internet) hopefully this is true!
hmmm.. I pressed save on IE and my denon shut off after displaying "saving" for about 5 min..
It never gave me the option to save this'downloaded' file though?
edit: hmmm.... now when I try to save it says "save not complete" please retry again...
edit2: ok seems to have worked,. I had to reset with the small power button before it would let me save my settings... strange

Yep, I have been following this thread and 1.69 is the latest. For everyone with a 3808, have you taken a look at this thread? Looks to be a pretty nice tool if he keeps at it. Just the ability to input the radio presets rather than go through the onerous manual process makes it worthwhile to look at. Plus, you can save/store your settings.

Yeah, I skipped straight to the third step the first time After I turned the power save off everything went smooth. Took about 30 minutes for the update. The on screen menu for accessing internet radio and network music does move quite a bit faster now.
