This is what I'm thinking of ordering: 2- M22 v2 1-EP350 1-VP150 4-QS8 2-FMS16 Stand My question is: It is worth to upgrade the M22 with stands to the M50 floor speaker? not much price difference. It's for a home theater room 15' x15', we mostly watch movies.
I have a Onkyo 805 AMP
Thanks

Since you will be using a sub I would stick with the m22's.
If you want a tower speaker I would get the m60 or m80.

Maybe skip the extra 2 QS8s to pay for it? 15' Square room doesn't seem terribly promising for a 7.1 setup.

I like my 6.1 setup, so I would stay with the original plan, as I haven't noticed a huge difference with movies going from the M22s to the M80s.

Al, welcome. Your list with the M22s and EP350 should be excellent. Hopefully you'll have at least 4' of room behind your listening position so that the back surrounds can form a significant rear sound field.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

I think you will notice a big sonic difference between the M22 and the M50 and it depends on the listener if it's a good difference. The M22 I believe will be much more detailed while the M50 is a bit more laid back and has much more bass presence. I have heard both speakers, but not at the same time. I have demo'd M50's against M80's at the Axiom factory though and the M80's would be fairly similar to M22's except the M22's would need a sub to keep up with the 80's obviously.. I don't think you should decide between M22 and M50's though, definitely look at 60's or 80's. Mind you I really liked the 50's and to me the bass really seemed to be impressive. From my experience the M50 would be more like a M3 on roids.
