Yipes! I would never DARE open my speakers like that! Nice to know the sub has a green wire in case it starts ticking like a bomb and you have to defuse it!

Fascinating.
The voice coils on the 3.5" woofers are (relatively) huge! And did you guys notice that the passive woofer on the EP0 has what appear to be hookup posts? Eeenteresting...

Hey, barilkobart, great pictures. I hadn't seen the insides of the little sub yet!

Looks like the EP0 passive radiator is a woofer that has not had the voice coil and magnet installed. Note the orange spider that is not connected to anything (I think thats the right term). Perhaps future Axiom drivers will have this new dustcap.
The active woofer is labelled EP0 and is dual voice coil. I wondered why the cable from the AudioByte amp to the EP0 was stereo.
I really like how the AudioBytes surround is protected by a rubber ring, preventing damage when removing/replacing the magnetic grills.
I too was surprised how beefy the drivers in the Audiobytes are.

I'm blown away to find that it has both a passive radiator AND a port. Cool!

My mother-in-law, who is an accomplished musician, listened to my audiobytes coupled with my powered Sony sub. She was astounded with how great they sounded. The only problem was that they played too loud. So I introduced her to a great invention called the gain control .
House of the Rising Sone Out in the mid or far field Dedicated mid-woofers are over-rated

I thought "gain control" was supposed to be discussed in the "fitness" thread?
