Thanks guys, I appreciate all the suggestions. The musics I listen to are mainly classical, a little bit soft rock and very little pop. Murph/terzaghi, I sync mostly AIFF and Apple Lossless from iTune to the iPhone and Yes, compressed music sounds horrible I'm having a hard time finding a good DAC to get the music out of the iPhone to play like a good CD-Player so I think I'll just stick with Mac-mini's optical out for now. A colleage of mine got the m22s at home so I dropped by in the weekend to check them out, wow they are nice. Right now I am contemplating what speakers to get. I am considering the m60s or the m22s since the speakers I am replacing are two really old 250Watt floorstanders. Any suggestions or opinions on the m60s? (for a place about 300+ square feet) thanks again.

You wil really fill up that 300sq.ft. with sound with the M60s. They have a much fuller sound than the pin point accuracy of the M22s. I've had both and the M60s feel warmer less clinical in there presentation and they have lots more potential for bass output than the M22s. The vocals are more pronounced on the M22s than on the M60s which was hard for me to accept when I had the M60s in house and compared the 2. I ended up going to the M80s, they are a good approximation of the M22/M60 combination. I even ran the M22s with the M60s, now that was an awesome setup, even a little better than the M80s, IMO.

If you have a friend with M22s nearby then this gives you a great opportunity convince your colleague that you should do an a/b comparison of the two. Then, should you decide you like the M22s better after a direct comparison, you can take advantage of the 30 day return policy. If you order the M22s now, you will never know for sure you made the right choice.
Oh, and make sure you let us know the results of your comparison.

Well, I picked up the m60s from the local Purolator and managed to put one in my back seat and half in the trunk and half hanging outside the trunk I can definitely hear the difference in sound comparing to my 10+ years old SONY floor speakers. However, it seems that my wife is not pleased with the new m60s... I mean there is a slight difference but she complains the speakers sounds hollower than before ??? While I could hear the difference but not as much as expected when I got the Mhdt Lab tube-buffer Paradisea DAC years ago - that was a night/day difference. Question: do the speakers need to be broken in? I am going to A/B the sony vs. the m60s tonight after work. Perhaps my setup is not corrent OR, maybe it's about time to upgrade my AMP? Now, my setup is simple: Samsung HD841 via optical toslink to DAC's spdif and from there it's RCA to my SONY STR-DE697. The other thing worth mentioning is I am using the same speakers cable (haven't had time to install the new cables I ordered). Thanks.

The Sony should be ok, check to make sure the 2 straps under the speaker terminals on the M60s are flat against the post, if one is off you could be losing some sound.
You could also just be used to the boomy sound older/cheaper floorstanders have compared to the Axioms.

Thanks again jakewash. After A/B the new and the old, the sony is no match for the m60s. Now my old speakers really sound like a broken pair The more I listen to the m60s, the more I like them... I start to really enjoy them with my current stereo setup. Now I am going to see if I could hook them up to a friend of mine's Accuphase to compare with his Totems this weekend. Oh and I'm not sure if I still want to A/B with the m22s... I think I already know my answer. cheers. P.S. I took some pictures gonna see if I can post them tonight.
