To any who have followed the discussions in the past regarding the sensitivity of the 600 and the resulting effects when calibrating and running more than one sub with the EP600 anywhere in the chain, I thought I would post a solution that I stumbled upon inadvertently. (As brief background, something about the way the amp in the 600 is built and the combination of using it with the Denon 3808 causes the EP-600's volume to dip severely as soon as another sub is plugged in, whether it be in a daisy chain through the 600 or split directly at the receiver)

Totally unrelated to this issue, shortly after I received my 600, based upon advice from SRoode, I picked up a Behringer Feedback Destroyer (BFD) to help solve some really ugly slumps in bass response in my room. Fast forward two weeks or so... I decided to hook up my old Earthquake sub at the same time as the 600 to see if I could use the BFD to smooth that out as well and smooth the overall response in the room.

Much to my surprise, I managed to do that and more. I realized after a couple of times plugging in the Earthquake and unplugging it that I wasn't getting the massive volume dropout on the 600 I used to get whenever I added another sub to the chain. It appears that by running the Denon's sub out first to the BFD and then out to the subs from there solves the input impedance issues!

So... for others of you who have had this problem or were worried about its effect in your setup when running the 600, spending another $150 or so on a BFD seems to solve the problem (and also gives you one heck of a tool for sub setup, but I'll post more on that later).

Well done Jason! I just might have to pick up a BFD later this year.

For Sale - 1 BFD... 1 million dollars (pinky finger in mouth). ;\)

It is a nice piece of equipment when coupled with high end speakers like the Axioms. Thanks for the props, and I am really looking forward to your results.

Hasn't it been a year since you have been testing and sending back subs? ;\)
