Hey guys,

I have sold my house, and I want to upgrade my speakers. I really have always wanted Rosewood M80s, the premium on purchasing them is quite a hefty one to take. I have come to love the Axiom sound and am a bit torn between the Rosewood options AV123 offer with the Rocket series, and M80s.

One thing I have going for me is the trade-in option for the M80s, I'll be able to trade in all my gear towards the purchase of M80 Rosewood towers and only pay about $1000 extra (just for the towers mind you).

Just looking for advise on the matter. I am seriously considering the Axiom route, but >$2000 is alot for M80s, even tho I know I will prefer their sound to the Rockets more "laid back" qualities.

I'm no help. I'm not going to compromise on the sound for the aesthetics.

Robb, if you like the M80's sound, pay the extra for it. It may seem steep now, but in the long run you'll be happy. Every day you look at them, even three years from now, you'll think to yourself, "I made the right choice and I have no regrets."

I always equate it to buying a car. You have your eye on a silver one, but the dealer is going to give you a thousand off on the mustard yellow one. Is the money you're going to save right then carry you through your years of ownership? You don't want to wake up every morning and think, "Yuck, I should have paid extra for the color I wanted."

Robb, price out some Paradigm Studio 100s, then come back to the M80s. That premium doesn't look so bad for the sonic signature you are looking for.

I love the flat response that the M80 chart shows. Its a no compromise speaker with amazing FR. I have come to love how spacious my M22s sound, they are so crystal clear that I dont think I'll ever be able to go to a speaker that is more recessed in the mids and highs.

My mind is pretty much made up on the Axioms, I just need to convince my wife now that the premium is worth it (she too loves Rosewood tho, so it should be an easy sell ;\)

Did you try to sell the H/T set up with the house? Possibly get a better price then trading in with Axiom?

Depending on time frame keep an eye on the Owner's Club.

The system didn't sell with the house, for some reason they didn't want a Home Theatre in the basement...beats me!

If you made some good $$ on the house, then pony up for the rosewood and you will never regret it. Another option is seeing if High gloss cherry is to your liking. I love my HGC M3's.

Are you still living in the west end of Calgary?
