I just got a used Nad stereo off of audiogon (C-740).It replaced an older Pioneer SX- 3700.I got the Nad wired to my Axiom M3s and they never sounded so good.I know some of you don't think the receiver makes a difference, but my ears don't lie.

How long did it take to wire it up? Audio memory is extraordinarily short. Not to mention volume levels.
In any case, glad to hear that you're happy with the purchase.

My ears lie all the time. Just the other day I thought I heard my wife talking dirty to me, but when I tried to do what I though she asked, she smacked me.

Of course some receivers reproduce music with greater fidelity than others. Enjoy your NAD!
I have a friend with the exact speakers I have and he was gobsmacked at the sound quality of my office system. It was the bells you know. They sounded so pure, the sound hung and shimmered, and he hadn't heard the likes from his system. We were watching the science channel Big Bang Bang show, and the background music just stopped our conversation and blew us away. And the source was cable HD 5.1 !
He uses the Sony 5300 receiver, a nice unit. I have an older Sony TA E9000ES, PVA 5 amp, but the speakers are the Michaura M665s (similar to the M60 - 2 axiom 6.5" drivers, 1x5.25" driver and the 3/4" titanium tweeter.) a pair of Michaura M55s (like the M22s but a bit smaller cabinet). I guess there is a difference in subs, he has a Velodyne 12" and I use a Dahlquist 15 incher.
Anyway, receivers/processors-amps make a difference.
Enjoy the Music. Trust your ears. Laugh at Folks Who Claim to Know it All.
