You guys are making me drool. I also prefer old school American muscle. I've been watching the Mecum Auto auctions and pining over some of those cars. Jason,
are we talking about the same car? I thought the McLaren F1 ceased production in '95? perhaps I am mistaken.. Sorry Robb, not a very clear post was it ( I must remember not to post when discussing other matters while at work). I was refering to your statement that the Mclaren has stood up for 13 years, while the 427 Cobra has really stood the test of time at ~25 years with its own performance. The original 427 AC Cobra had the best 0-100-0 time for ~25 years right up until the early 90s when supercars were starting to be built again, of which the Mclaren was one. I consider the 427 Cobra the original super car.

The 'family' dream car for us is an Auburn - Ian and I were at a hotel one day that was having a get-together for the owners and we lost our hearts (same company that made the aforementioned Cords, also gorgeous). They are so elegant! But if I were to get my very own dream car, it would be an E-type convertible.

Yeap, the E-type convertible is my favorite too...

Does the E stand for "Everyone's going to look at you?"

When Julie sees cars like that E-Type, she rightly says "I'd look good in that" (as would Amie)

I think it stands for 'Escape'! Instead of looking at the other seven lanes of traffic trying to head north with me, I can picture myself in my velour Valentino leisure suit, motoring through the english countryside . . . that's a harder stretch to make in the ole' Jeep Realistically, it will probably be around the same time Valentino starts making velour jumpsuits that I start motoring around in an E-type anyway

Maybe if Ian sold the private jet then you could get one! Or traded in the helicopter, you know, since he doesn't need it to fight crime any more.
