Ok, so I always find myself back here. I am definitly getting a pair of the Qs8's for surrounds - never a doubt there. As for the fronts, its been a bit of a read the crap out of everything and confuse myself.

What are peoples thoughts on running 3- W100's in the front or possibly 3- W3's (I like the 6.5 woofer) - I do have a great PSB 10inch sub going with this (great bass), so the 5.25 woofers may work just fine. The room is 16ft by 13 feet, but the seating will be within 12ft of the big screen (2.37 wide screen)....I will be throwing a couple of bass shakers on the couch too.

Anyone tried a LCR setup with those W100's?

I would think the W22s would be a better selection for the LR mains but The W100 would probably work just fine as well, especially if you need to stay in a horizontal placement.

So when are we going to get together for an audition? Summers over so the camping trips are pretty much done.

Ya Jason - lets try for next week, carpet guy here this week and the furnace cleaning guys - then I hope to get baseboards etc on. My thinking is that the W22's are the same as the W100, just different configs (i.e. the MTM vs TMM)...different schools of thought regarding that...on the spec.s they are somewhat different, so I'll revisit that idea.

I'll PM you this weekend sometime.

My 22s go lower than my VP100 and have a more pleasing sound on their own, I will guess due to the more pronounced low end, not that the M22s have a pronounced low end.

Didn't jakeman set up his buddy in Fla with 3 horizontal 150s for the front? They seemed to work quite well in a rather palatial room.

I would love to spend my winters enjoying that room.

Hi Funk,

While the driver configuration of the W100 and W22 is the same, since I did many of the listening tests at Axiom, may I suggest that you consider the W22 or the W3 rather than using three of the W100s?

The sound quality of the W100, while it's tonally close to the W22, isn't identical. The W22 has a slightly smoother and more refined quality, as does the W3.
