Have you tried the M2 full range in that set-up?

Before you got in her near-field, she'd thigh lock your face to death.

Yes. I’ve had it full range for a few months now. I’ve probably listened to this setup the most in the last while. It’s in my home office where I work from now about 70% of my work time. It’s down in the 1200 sq foot unfinished basement. The m2s have no front wall just bc of how it the desk is oriented.

It sounds really good near field and full range but this sub adds more satisfaction. It’s great.

What I haven’t tried is the m2 full range or with my powered sub and big 2 channel amp in the great room. I’ll try that at some point.

What I meant is full range with the sub in the near-field set-up.

Oh I see…. Yes I did. But not for long. I wasn’t able to get the bass from the sub to match the output on the m2 nicely. To get the bass amount from the sub up to get it good to my ear I was pushing the m2 with with bass tone control and it was getting muddy.

But with it high passed I get the control tool I need and want on the bass tone control to make the sub match better and the m2 is clear and smooth. It’s getting a small bump around 200-300 hz but it’s not in your face.

Hmmm...I wonder if putting the sub near a room boundary would boost the bass enough so that you don't have to cross the M2s at 200Hz.

Worth a shot for sure! I’ve got 1200 sq feet of space to play with. No energy for that today!!! But I’ll give a shot at some point. But as is it’s pretty good just sitting at the desk. Very satisfying. Great idea though to try it near a room boundary.

( define room boundary….? Do you mean the location in my space that has the most consistent response? IE If I put the sub in my listening position then walked the room listening for the best spot, that’s where my sub should go?)

Right now it’s just under my desk against the wall…. Wouldn’t be hard to move it to my listening position then do the sub crawl.

A room boundary is a structure that limits the size of your room. A wall is a room boundary. Putting a sub against a wall or a corner increases its gain. You have it against a wall so that's taken care of.

You could also try doing what I did with my London Drugs cheapo Sony sub. I shellaced the paper driver and stuffed it with polyfill. Works wonders with my Audiobytes.

I’ll definitely stuff it. It’s just got a single sheet of fill in it. I’ll stuff it like a turkey. Think I’ve got some Roxul kicking around here…..

Stuff it in stages until you're satisfied. Keep it away from the driver.
