I'm looking to buy quality interconnects (analog).

Would you say Axiom's interconnects or Kimber Kable's "Tonik"? The Axiom are cheaper.

My general view is that you can do considerably better on price for excellent quality interconnects from a source such as Parts Express. I'm a bit curious about your "analog" specification. Any coaxial cable with a 75 ohm impedance is suitable for digital use and of course would be equally good for analog, so why are you thinking analog?

I've done a ton of searching the past week for audio interconnects. The best deal I've found for decent interconnects was from www.bluejeanscable.com They charge about $26 for what many, many other places charge $50+ for.

Sorry, I meant analog as in a "dual" RCA specific interconnect...I've used 15 year old RCA cables as "coaxial digital" cables plenty of times and I'll be darned if I can hear the difference

I just got my S-Video and 5.1 analog's in from them today. Very good quality product. I can not beleive how cheap they are compared to their competition.

I've decided to go with Blue Jeans...they're less than half the price!

Also the web site, while simple, is convincing.

Not so fast, my Saint. Apparently you just want a stereo RCA connection between a player and receiver(unless you have no connection at all now, you'll also be darned to hear any difference with this). Blue Jeans is fine and relatively reasonably priced but there's no good reason to pay more than this .

Why do people pay hundreds of dollars for this stuff I wonder?

I DO believe in buying quality,and $15 extra is not so much to pay for a cable that will last me years and go from system to system.

I'm replacing my current cables because they were the extra-cheap kind that came with the CD player.

People pay hundreds of dollars for this stuff because unfortunately this is an area of audio which is rife with charlatans preying on the gullible.

So when a company like Kimber Kable charges $500 for interconnects, they're basically cheating you?

How much do $500 interconnects cost THEM to make?
