I got an Onkyo 797 a few weeks ago. M50s up front, Merak MC6H horn tweeter center channel, sides Merak MT66s, Velodyne CT100 sub.
The 797 is only 6 channel unless you use a separate amp. I found a used Denon PMA V500 for a song and will be hooking up a pair of Mission 77ds speakers for the back channels tonight.
While I was rummaging through our local recycler site, I also found a Yamaha DSP A-1 integrated amp for sale. I've been waiting for a pair of Le Amp monoblocks for some time. nOrh couldn't give me an estimated production date, so I grabbed the Yamaha. I'll be hooking it up to my living room system, a pair of M3s and a Velodyne CT80 subwoofer.
The guy threw in a pair of Monster Z speaker cables. Anyone know anything about this Yamaha or the Z cables?

Here is a link regarding the Monster cables:

I am not familiar with the Yamaha, but found this link:

Hope this helps.
