I can't say I like the Hip, I have a bit of the opposite feeling about them truthfully... but TPOH's Love Junk and the less angsty One Sided Story are both really good albums. (Also for the readers - Moe Berg's The Green Room is a good collection of short stories, although the (romantic?) subject content can border on the odd).

Leonard Cohen needs a mention in the CanCon section as well.

Could add Holly Cole, Diana Krall, heck even Paul Anka should be mentioned too. Not many people have written/sung so many hits in every decade since the Stone Age as he has. ;\)

Well here are 20, but trying not to include any release already mentioned here, any "Best of", and only 1 per artist. In alpha order:

1. Allman Brothers - Live at Fillmore East
2. Blue Hawaiians - Sway
3. Brian Setzer Orch - The Dirty Boogie
4. Casting Crowns - Casting Crowns
5. Chris Botti - To Love Again
6. Chris Tomlin - Arriving
7. David Gilmour - On an Island
8. Def Leppard - Hysteria
9. Gary Moore - After Hours
10. George Winston - Autumn
11. Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow
12. JetPack - JetPack
13. Meatloaf - Bat Out of Hell
14. Neil Young - Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
15. Peter Frampton - Fingerprints
16. Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
17. Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
18. Star Sailor - Silence is Easy
19. Thelonious Monk - Live at Carnergie Hall with John Coltrane

Opps only 19, so Pink Floyd - Wish You Where Here

that may break only 1 per artist though, so if need be, through in The Beatles - Let It Be

This is also a great forum to see what else people listen to...

13. Meatloaf - Bat Out of Hell
Yes, Todd Rundgren meets Marvin Aday and Jim Steinman... a very good meeting of the minds.

8. Def Leppard - Hysteria
Wait, seriously? I just... it's always easy to dismiss other peoples' tastes in anything... but... wow... that's like seeing "Totally Krossed Out" by Kris Kross on a list.

But I am biased against 80s spandex c*** rock.

Translation: "SNAP, oh no you didn't go Def Leppard all up in here!"
Come on, Motely Crue, Guns & Roses, Metalica - not all spandex was that bad.

Def Leppard is good, but Hysteria was too overproduced for a hard rock album. I prefer Pyromania.

Mrs. Medic8r: Tough day at work, honey?
Medic8r: Yeah, I was discussing hysteria and pyromania with my colleagues...

...the better part of valor! You don't want to set off the aged and semi-infirm hoard of 80’s metal heads in here. We are feisty, but our attention span is real . . . what was I ranting about?
