I have a Samson S1000 amp currently on my svs subs. I might be replacing the subs so I was wondering if I didnt sell it all could I use the samson amp on my m80's? I have a old onkyo right now running my system at 80w rms on m80's vp150 and the qs8's. The s1000 would give the 80's 500w rms each. So would that amp sound good?

As long as you have preouts on the Onkyo you should be good.

It should sound pretty good, it is a full range amp and has lots of power.
Quick question, are the cooling fans loud on this amp?

Like Jason said, that amp should do well with the M80s.

Quick question, are the cooling fans loud on this amp? That was what I was mainly wondering...if its worth hooking it up...does it sound good. I have had this amp on my dual CS+ svs since I got them in like 02. I replaced a paradigm pw2200 with it...I have since been reunited with the 2200 and cant help think it might sound better. I need to do some side by side testing and setting them up in the best spot in the room to see. But if I used the pw2200 I would end up with this s1000 amp. unless I tried to sell the svs/amp combo. My onkyo is not 4ohm stable and doesnt like to run long at loud volumes with the m80's. The s1000 should help remady that problem since the others are 6 and 8ohm and it can handle that. As for the fans...I never not once in all my years have heard the fans in normal house hold settings...not a super quiet HT room. It doesn't like anything stacked on it. I tried to put my cd player on top of it and it makes the fans hit something. Maybe its different these days...but I think its meant for a rack mount.
